A brief metaphor concerning bees

Uexküll tells how one may move a beehive a few metres while its inhabitants are away, that when the bees return they will gather at the point where it was previously located; only after hovering some several minutes will they move to enter at the new location.

If, however, the bees have had their antennae removed—then they will fly immediately to the new entrance.
